The 5 Top El Clasico’s between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid

Rogelio hand-picks the Top 5 best El Clasico matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as this Saturday 21st April we have another El Clasico!

Oh yes, it’s that time of the year. This Saturday 21st April 2012 at 20:00 local time (GMT+2), we have another match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Now, before you start wondering if I work for the PR department of any of these two Spanish teams with the previous El Clasico coverage I have given them on my blog, I will tell you that I love good soccer. Anytime that Real Madrid and FC Barcelona play against each other the world has a great opportunity to see the best soccer players on the world go at one another. I mean, when do you get the occasion to see the Top 3 FIFA/Ballon d’Or world players on the same field: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Xavi Hernandez. Add Iniesta, Alexis Sanchez, Iker Casillas, Xabi Alonso, Busquets, Sergio Ramos, Pedro, Angel Di Maria, Karim Benzema and you have a recipe for the best soccer match in the world.

This Saturday the world will stop for 2 hours as just about 500 million people, yet again, tune in this time to FC Barcelona’s Nou Camp to watch FC Barcelona battle the La Liga championship to Real Madrid. In this El Clasico match, Real Madrid will have to defend its mere 4 points difference to FC Barcelona in the Spanish league. Expert commentators and myself agree: if Real Madrid wins, they have pretty much won La Liga yet if FC Barcelona wins, the remaining 3 matches left for the Spanish league to end will be excrutiating for both teams as a FC Barcelona win tomorrow will mean that the Catalonian team will be only 1 point behind Real Madrid! For those unaware, the La Liga Spanish soccer league is the best in the world, although some will argue that the Premier League is the best (horses for courses, people).

Again, this Saturday we are ensured real soccer, from awesome passes, dribbles, crosses and shots to fights, tension and out-of-this-world tackles. I highly recommend you to watch El Clasico tomorrow, it will be mint (as my fellow brits say)! Just be aware, Barcelona is on Central European Summer Time, this means it is 2 hours ahead of GMT. So if you are in Spain, the match will be at 20:00 (except for my beautiful Canary Islands, one hour less here), if in the UK, the match will be at 19:00 your time and if in the USA, dude, just go here and do the maths.

And because I love good soccer and because Manly Curls is the lifestyle blog and not just a place to flood you with Mickey Mouse content as most “lifestyle” blogs do, I have hand-picked the top best 5 El Clasico matches ever played! I have watched most of these El Clasico matches live, even the ones from the 90’s, and I can assure you that there was more to the Los Clasicos before 2008.

So, I will leave you guys now with my hand-picked 5 top El Clasico matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, enjoy them and “que gane el mejor”!

All the best.

Rogelio, do you know the line ups for both teams, have they been confirmed for tomorrow?

      Hi Risto,

According to my sources, the line-ups for Barsa and Real Madrid have not been confirmed. Lass is likely to play instead of Coentrao for Real Madrid, while Alexis Sanchez is unknown whether he will play while Gerard Pique is back on the team (didn’t play against Chelsea), Mascherano will probably be the one sacrificed although without Abidal this time, we can’t really know.

Stay tuned as I will update either through this blog, Facebook or Twitter (subscribe here & follow on FB and TW).

      All the best.
