Goodbye 2012, Welcome 2013 – Popular Blog, My Book & More

Well, I’m writing this on the 1st January; have purposely left this article for today though I had doubts that I’d be able to write it depending on how hungover I woke up.

2013 is today, and we enter a new year. Now, I’m not one who likes to make resolutions as the year comes to an end, and I am not one who makes promises he will not deliver, so I personally see today as yet another day. However, since I follow the same calendar as the rest of Western mortals, I might as well make a summary of how 2012 has treated me and how it has been for Manly Curls.

With regards to my personal life, I have been on the go a lot, traveling up and down between 3 countries throughout the year and having a lot of fun while doing it. I’ve been to the Olympics in London and I power cleaned 300lbs at a bodyweight of 180lbs (which is a new personal best for me) while still keeping my six pack. I’ve had other interesting tidbits occurring personally and many positive things have occurred, so I’m very happy with how my life is going and the life path I set and am heading to.

With regards to Manly Curls, the year 2012 has been the culmination of this site. We are now reaching thousands on a daily basis, having hit some tremendous traffic peaks throughout the year. It goes without saying that, to a blogger, an increasing audience is highly satisfying and shows that you’re doing things good, so I’m very happy with having more and more of you reading my words day in and day out.

June 1st marked the 1-year anniversary of Manly Curls. I started my site as a way to spread the word (the one I talk about in my book) and also as an outlet for my thoughts and passion for writing. Since then, Manly Curls has grown and grown, and I have headed it down the path I’ve wanted. Just like with physical businesses, the vast majority of blogs don’t make it over a year, so the fact that more and more people read my site after 1 year gives me the assurance that, so far, I’m doing it right.

With a bigger audience comes more questions. 2012 has been a year of answering emails on a daily basis, and I could make a second book with all the answers I’ve written to specific questions from y’all. Interaction is the blood of life, and you’re always welcome to interact with me and the rest of readers because, after all, our hair revolution ain’t going to move on its own.

That’s right, 2012 has also been the year in which we have just started a hair revolution. This revolution calls for embracing your waves, coils or kinks and it calls for optimising your curly hair so as to customise it to your life as a male. You’ve seen my long curly hair, and you’ve see the curly manes of several of our featured readers; the idea is to change the negative view that curly men have about their hair and turn this self-embracing into a positive movement that sees one’s hair as part of enhancing one’s core. I am so serious about this pioneering revolution that 2012 was also the year of another website of mine, Men’s Hair Blog, which concentrates more on hair care for men; likewise, 2012 was also the year of my much-anticipated book.

I wrote my book The Curly Hair Book: Or How Men Can Now Rock Their Waves, Coils And Kinks throughout 2012, and I approached my book from the concept of delivering results with convenience. Curly (and straight haired) men can also have great-looking hair, not just women, and you as a male can have such optimised hair with convenience and without sacrificing your testosterone levels; this being what I call the Awesome Mane concept. Manly Curls and The Curly Hair Book sinergise each other, and my book has been my next step in spreading the awesome mane word. What’s more is that my book has soon become a bestseller and the feedback so far from readers is fantastic (you can check out The Curly Hair Book at Amazon in this link).

The year 2013 has already started, and I have great plans in my mind for this long year, both on a personal and a professional level. Needless to say, Manly Curls will continue to improve and grow, and, together (you, the rest of readers and I), we will get the word out and propel this hair revolution. We’re counting on you!

Have a great 2013, and I’ll see you here.
