Introduce yourself

I am the weird guy on the train with the colorful, creative abstract hair that keeps smiling to myself when people stare at my hair and attire, knowing they will soon discover my true identity as International Pop Fusion artist Step Boy Bleu (At Large).

How do you care for your hair?

Well because my hair is bleached, a deep conditioner is given to keep the hair soft and healthy looking. Clear gel is applied to maintain curl pattern. A few sprays of sheen is sprayed for shine. Then I’m good to go!

Weirdest hair moment?

Well, I had just gotten my hair done for a magazine spread and it rained so when I got to the set I looked in the mirror and thought I’d been shot because the red dye was dripping down the side of my new bulls eye design.

Favorite hairstyle or haircut?

Right now I’m seeing a lot of folks with their rendition of the pompadour style , I like most … each one speaks for itself.

One tip for a better lifestyle

Making better eating choices is always a great addition to improving my life.

Favorite place you have been to

The Empire State of mind… NEW YORK! I want to rewind to being on the streets of NYC, seeing the street vendors and visiting Harlem where I got an enormous slice of pizza topped with mushrooms and extra mozzarella cheese… Sometimes you just gotta have it!

You have just built a time machine, what time period in history are you visiting?

I would go back to 1996. I was 7 years old with no bills , rent, or worries. The cartoons then were so cool to me and everyday outside was a Power Rangers day! I was Tommy, the white ranger.

Casual or formal wear?

Both, I start with an ugly pattern button down shirt and blue European cut jeans, clashing patterned tie , bold, colorful socks and formal style red bottom shoes.

For your shaving, razors or clippers?

Clippers, I like to keep a clean neat line up. Clippers are more precise for my hair texture.

One celebrity with a mane you are inspired by

I’m not too inspired by a lot of hair styles but I do admire the creativity of some. Katy Perry always has a very fun and creative “teenage dream” kind of look.

One celebrity you’d go dining with

Kelly Rowland! She is a beautiful woman with a great personality and amazing voice.

One celebrity you’d punch in the face

I think war with Stewie Griffin would be interesting. I’m quite sure..

Chuck Norris vs Batman. Who wins?

Does anybody remember when Batman entered The Penguin’s layer? The Penguin pulled that umbrella out on him and starting shooting at Batman… Sorry Chuck, I’m going with Penguin.

Gym or outdoors exercising?

I’m more of a “Gym body” , I will hop up on the elliptical and run 6-8 miles . I also like to work out in the different classes.

One song for an enjoyable evening

“It’s always a good time: by Owl City and Carley Rae Jepsen … the title says it all.

Manly Curls is…

Manly Curls is one of the best hair blogs I have ever visited. It allows us to talk about mens hair and show how creative we can be.

Final words?

Be on the look out for my new Pop Fusion International 3 part series mixtape. Kicking off with Step Boy Bleu Presents: The Appetizer featuring beats from producers from all over the world!

Editor’s Note: I had a chance to preview some of Step Boy Bleu’s new songs and they rock! Keep an eye out for him, he’s on his way up!
